Allow us to specify a score threshold at the course (not activity) level that determines pass/fail for the course.

Use Case

Here's my course setup:

Course Name

  • Lesson 1 (Learning activity 1: SCO returning a percent score)
  • Lesson 2 (Learning activity 2: SCO returning a percent score)
  • Lesson 3 (Learning activity 3: SCO returning a percent score)
  • Course Eval (Learning activity 4: Course evaluation, no scoring)

I want to do this:

All activities must be completed, and then:

  • Lesson 1: weight is 25% of the final course score
  • Lesson 2: weight is 50% of the final course score
  • Lesson 3: weight is 25% of the final course score
  • Course Eval: weight is 0% of the final course score
  • Pass threshold is 85% - if the weighted, averaged scores don't meet this threshold, the learner fails the course.

Things we've tried

Currently, I can...The issue with it is...
Set each activity to pass/fail. On pass, the course progresses to the next; on fail, the whole course is failed. Each course attempt requires every lesson to be retaken, even if it was passed previously.
Set a weight on each activity.HealthStream doesn't give us a way to use that information to determine the course pass or fail.
Replicate most of what I want by moving everything "up a level" - creating a curriculum with 4 courses.I cannot combine multiple curricula into a curriculum like I can courses. This workaround isn't a scalable solution.
View scores for completed courses (if I dig far enough in reports).I cannot use this information for any automatic action (such as reassignment on "fail" crtiera).
