      Our nation faces a nursing shortage of unprecedented
      proportions, as multiple disruptive forces converge upon the healthcare
      workforce. Record numbers of experienced nurses are predicted to retire from
      the profession in the next five years, just as the demand for hospital services
      explodes due to an increasing number of insured individuals, an aging
      population, and chronic disease. Hospitals will struggle to fill the expertise
      gap with the largest available source of replacements, new graduate nurses. Has
      leadership at your hospital considered how you will address this unique “perfect
      storm” situation?
