Yes, we do as we store the Panda warmer and the T-piece on it is located in an ante room storage near patient room. We teach in NRP the rapid use of ambu bag in the posttpartum room to begin resuscitation. We also include an adult ambu bag as well.
In L&D a warmer should be equipt with the ventilation device of choice that will provide free flow, CPAP and PPV. In our L&D rooms we also have a infant self inflating bag in the room (just in case the warmer isn't in room and something happens with baby). We also have the self inflating bags on a hook at the beginning of the room in couplet care. We do not place the infant self inflating bag by the mothers at the head of the bed because the baby can be in various parts of the room and we do not want them to connect to oxygen prior to ventilating the patient if needed. A way to ventilate in an emergency situation with the self inflating bag should always be available.
Hope this helps, Michelle Donahoo
